Welcome: one small app, two app stores

Video · 10 min · Free preview

Welcome to the App Builder Track. In four weeks you will build one small mobile app and put it in front of real reviewers at Apple and Google. Not a tutorial clone that lives on your laptop. An app with your name on the store listing that a recruiter or client can install on their own phone.

Why we use Expo

Expo is a set of tools on top of React Native. You write one JavaScript codebase and it runs on iPhone and Android. Expo Go lets you test on your phone by scanning a QR code. EAS Build makes the store files in the cloud, so you do not need a Mac to ship an iPhone app. EAS Submit sends those files to the stores for you.

What the four weeks look like

  • Week 1: plan a one-screen app that solves one problem.
  • Week 2: build it with Expo and test it on your phone.
  • Week 3: get store ready: icon, name, privacy policy, screenshots, developer accounts.
  • Week 4: build, test, submit, handle review, and learn how updates work.

The rule for this cohort

Small wins. The apps that get published are the ones that stay tiny. A water reminder that works beats a social network that is half done. If your idea needs a login, a server and payments, we will cut it down together in Week 1.

An honest note

This is training. We cannot promise your app will be approved on the first try, and we cannot promise downloads, income or a job. Reviews take their own time and the rules change. What we can promise is a clear path, live build-along calls and real feedback on your work. Start with the next lesson.
